Green roofs in Norway are part of a long tradition. In this Scandinavian country is not unusual to see how the house blend into the landscape. 

During the period of Viking and Middle Ages most of the houses had earthen roofs, a concept that took place in Norway until the early 18th century, in rural areas and more. Although the centuries-old traditions in modern times nearly disappeared emergence of modern industrial materials, several recent “romance” revived the old-fashioned ways of building.
